My project is an informative poster conveying the current research on Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in Vance’s Lab at KCL. The primordial aim of the project is not to obtain donations but rather to inform hard science to the audience interactively and playfully. We believe that is important for the audience to understand science and “communicate with” the audience, to give the opportunity for an open analogue where the information is given for them to make their own conclusion on the current research, as opposed to promoting science by the use of marketing. The poster will be sent to charity shops related to ALS or neurological disorders around the UK (i.e, Sue Ryder, MNDA, ALS). The posters will be allocated in changing rooms, queues, windowsills or anywhere where the audience have time to read through and internalise the context. By choosing charity shops, our target audience becomes extraordinarily extensive, varying in age and knowledge about ALS. The poster starts with a finger pointing at the spectators to bring their attention, followed by the question, “Where are your donations going ?” an introduction to what ALS is and an insight into the ongoing research at KCL.
