My project is a podcast series focusing on providing insights on neuroimaging. The podcast aims at audiences between 16-30 years old, with each episode sitting around 30 to 40 minutes with unique guest(s). The length is purposely set so it is flexible for people to listen in one go while commuting or working out. The episode usually starts with guests (either the authority or PhD students of similar ages) explaining their current research in lay terms, followed by questions extending from their study and leading to the episode topic. I have selected the topic based on the Arichi Lab's current research interest, focusing on how magnetic resonance imaging works, how the visual cortex develops in babies, and how technology like VR helps neuroimaging. The episode's theme is shaped as someone who knows nothing about neuroimaging and just asks questions that they have. Audiences can also engage with the podcast through Spotify messages and YouTube comments. The podcast aims to communicate that neuroscience is not imitating and people from any background can explore their brains. The message hopes to attract more new blood to the research field and provide creative ideas on how neuroimaging can improve research on other topics.
