Explore the magic behind MRI scans through Teddy’s exciting hospital adventure and join him as he unlocks the secrets of the MRI machine in a comforting tale!
My project turns what can often be an intimidating medical procedure into a reassuring and engaging experience for children aged 4-6. "Teddy and the Magic Tunnel" is an interactive pop-up book designed to guide young patients, many of whom have epilepsy and other neurological conditions, through the MRI process by following Teddy, a lovable teddy bear, on his brave journey. Each illustrated page takes children step-by-step through their hospital visit, from arrival and exploring the MRI machine, to discovering what happens during the scan. Children will learn what type of images are produced and how scientists use MRI scans to look for abnormalities or signs of epilepsy in the brain.
The goal of this engaging book is to be placed in hospital waiting rooms, providing young patients with a comforting distraction and easing their nerves as they wait for their procedure. Teddy’s adventure transforms the unfamiliar, noisy MRI experience into a relatable and exciting story, empowering children with understanding, reducing their anxiety, and helping them approach their own scans with confidence and bravery.
