National Award success for past student

Delighted to share some exciting Sci-comm news from within our very own community!

Course alum Alyssa Siriyan (Class of 2025) was this years winner of the prestigious “Josh Awards” with her project entitled 'What Remains'.

'What Remains' is a community-led, participatory science project that brings together residents from the diverse communities surrounding Guy's Campus, London Bridge, to explore the biomedical science of death alongside their own cultural practices, rituals, and stories.

The Josh awards are part of the BIG STEM communicators network.

"The Josh Award is the UK’s national award in science communication and engagement, which encompasses all areas of STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths. It is established to recognise and encourage talented early career science communication professionals, to always cheerfully pursue innovation and creativity in the content and outreach of their practice." - https://big.uk.com/Josh

We are so proud of Alyssa for the hard work she put into the application (with the support and help of our amazing Leigh Wilson). This win is particularily special for us as the 'What Remains' project is directly based of the idea’s and themes that Alyssa explored for her 3rd year communicating science project.
